[15:10]<+camerongray> veltas: Any reason it would be likely? Sorting that would probably be the most important option
[15:10]<+camerongray> Pretty much any alarm system will require you to drill into the outside of the building to mount the siren, PIRs.etc can be stuck up with sticky pads though
[15:12]<+camerongray> Main thing would be to just make the place reasonably secure in the first place, main thing I can think of would be to install proper anti-snap cylanders in any euro profile locks (e.g. on UPVC doors) if you don't have them already
[15:12]<+camerongray> And obviously sort out insurance

[17:49]<veltas> camerongray: Recent burglary in area, the day after the criminals were staking out my house, it's a prime target, I have contacted police but obviously there is nothing they will do
[17:50]<veltas> It's a big house with loads of shoddy window frames so if someone wants in they will get in
[17:51]<veltas> I have insurance but it will cost me a lot of money regardless if there is a break-in
[17:51]<veltas> And they might also try identity fraud with what they have if they steal laptops/computers/documents
[17:55]<veltas> Only thing I've really thought of is setting up a permanent webcam or two around, to stream somewhere remote. As a deterrant and potentially to help identify the burglars
[17:56]<veltas> It's annoying since there's pretty much nothing I can do to prevent them from trying. If they see cameras they'll bring masks.
